Clash of the Titans heating up

Action was fast and furious last night in the Clash of the Titans Road Tennis Tournament played at Coverley, Christ Church.

Anderson Smith and Hakeem Ellis were engaged in a thrilling three-setter which Smith eventual won 21-14, 20-22, 21-12.

Sylvanus Doyle was also involved in quite a tussle against Gregory Gill. He lost the first set 20-22 but came storming back to win the other two, 21-16, 21-16.

Junior “JuJu” Wharton had a much easier job against Anthony Haynes in their match-up disposing of his opponent in straight sets, 21-11, 21-15.

Corey Mayers was on the wrong side of a sow in his game against Simeon Harewood , losing at 6, but then redeeming himself somewhat to reach 14 points before Harewood closed out the game.

Dwayne Lynch made light work of Wayne Clarke in their first set winning 21-11. He met some greater resistance in the second set but still took the game 21-17.

Jamal Branch defeated Ian Yearwodd 21-14, 21-14, while Adrian Scott got the better of Keon Murrell 21-15, 21-18.

The action was slated to continue tonight with the likes of Simon Bayne, Allan Davidson, Aaron Barker and Charles Griffith taking to the tennis court at Coverley.
